Transport services

For centuries Malaysia's strategic trading location between the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea puts it right in the middle of the sea route between the East and the West as a transshipment centre. Air cargo facilities are well developed, especially in the five international airports in Malaysia.

• Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
• Penang International Airport
• Langkawi International Airport
• Kota Kinabalu International Airport in Sabah
• Kuching International Airport in Sarawak.

Malaysia has 7 international ports and 8 domestic ports cater for international and regional passenger traffic via the major ports like;

Major ports include:
• Port Klang
• Penang Port
• Johor Port
• Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP)
• Kuantan Port
• Bintulu Port
• Lumut Port

Port Klang’s electronic data interchange (EDI) system, links a number of banks, shipping agents and freight forwarders with the customs and port authorities, thus improving efficiency and productivity, as well as reduced operation costs.
